Five cookies, none of them about you.

Pressly uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember small display choices. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking and no third-party tags on our pages or on the websites we publish for businesses. This page lists everything, so you can check rather than take our word.

To keep you signed in

• pressly_refresh — keeps your session alive so you are not signed out every hour. Set on our API domain only, not readable by JavaScript, and not shared with the websites we host for businesses. Up to 30 days.
• pressly_google_state — ties a “continue with Google” click to the browser that started it, so nobody else can finish your sign-in. 10 minutes.
• pressly_admin_session — a separate sign-in for Pressly’s own staff console. It exists on our admin domain only. 30 minutes.

To remember what you chose

Kept in your browser’s own storage, never sent to us: pressly.theme (light or dark), pressly.sidebar.collapsed (whether the sidebar is open) and pressly:site-editor:level (which editing level you last used). Clearing them changes nothing except those choices.

Counting visits without following anyone

On websites and booking pages we publish for a business, we count page views and enquiries so the owner can see whether the page is working, and we count the same way on our own pages. This uses no cookie and no browser storage. Each visit is turned into a one-way fingerprint that cannot be turned back into a person or matched across sites, used to count a visitor once rather than to recognise them. The day is part of that fingerprint, so the same browser is a different number tomorrow and nobody can be followed from one day to the next. Counts are kept for 30 days and then reduced to daily totals held for 12 months.

The optional script on external websites

A business may add Pressly’s website activity script to a website hosted elsewhere. It counts page views and specified link or button clicks without cookies, browser storage or visitor fingerprints. It sends page paths without query strings or fragments and referring hostnames. This is separate from the daily visitor counting on Pressly-hosted pages described above. The business must explain the collection in its own notice and configure any required consent. The supplied script can wait for consent and stop after withdrawal; it also respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. See the privacy policy for the data and retention details.

Other companies’ cookies

Signing in with Google, or paying through Stripe, takes you through their pages, and those companies set their own cookies under their own notices. A business that publishes its own website on Pressly is responsible for anything it adds to that site.

Turning them off

Your browser can block or clear any of this. Blocking the sign-in cookies means you cannot sign in; blocking browser storage means your display choices are forgotten. Nothing else depends on them.
